Terms
The short version: this site gives you general information about New Zealand building rules, not advice about your site. If you buy the guide and it does not help, ask within 14 days and we will refund you. Nothing here takes away your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act or the Fair Trading Act.

Who you are dealing with
This site is operated by Everything Tiny Homes is a trading name of Kauri Ridge Holdings Limited, NZBN 9429050000017, GST number 140-000-017. Contact details are on the contact page. By using this site you agree to these terms.
What this site is, and is not
It is general information about New Zealand building and resource management rules, drawn from published sources that are named and dated on every page. It is not:
- legal advice, building advice or design advice about your particular site;
- a substitute for your council, a Licensed Building Practitioner or a design professional;
- a guarantee that any building will be approved, or that any exemption applies to your project.
Rules change, and a page tells you when we last checked it — not that nothing has changed since. Before you spend money, confirm your position with your council and a design professional, in writing. We are not liable for decisions made solely on the basis of what you read here, to the extent the law allows us to say so.
The Consent & Site Guide
The guide is a digital product sold for $49 as a one-off payment. It is not on sale at the time of writing; when it is, these terms apply to it.
- Delivery. After payment you receive a personal download link by email. The link is for your own use, has an expiry, and allows a limited number of downloads. If it expires or fails, ask us and we will send a new one.
- Licence. You may use the guide for your own projects, including as a professional using it for a client. You may not resell it, publish it, or distribute copies.
- Payment. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Prices are in New Zealand dollars.
- GST. We are not registered for GST at the time of writing, so the price does not include GST. If that changes, prices and this page change with it.
Refunds
If the guide does not help you, ask for a refund within 14 days of purchase and we will refund the full price. You do not need to justify it. Email us from the address you bought with, or use the contact page. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within a few working days. Your download link is revoked when a refund is processed.
This is a policy we offer voluntarily, and it sits on top of your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 — which apply to digital products and which nothing in these terms limits or excludes.
Listings and introductions
Where homes are listed on this site, the seller is the builder, not us. If you buy one:
- your contract is with the builder, on the builder's terms, and you pay the builder directly;
- we never take, hold or handle your deposit or purchase money;
- the builder pays us a commission on the sale under a separate agreement with them. It is disclosed on the listing and it does not add to your price;
- we check the consent path a listing states against the MBIE guidance and any LBP number claimed against the public register. We do not inspect the build, and we make no representation about workmanship, quality or fitness for purpose. Those are matters between you and the builder.
We do not sell placement. No builder can pay to appear higher, be featured, or be described more favourably. See how we make money.
Businesses named on this site
Some pages name real New Zealand businesses and quote prices or details they publish themselves, with a link to the page and the date we read it. We add no ratings, reviews, rankings or endorsements, and naming a business does not imply any relationship with it. If your business is named and you want the entry corrected or removed, ask us and we will do it.
Waitlists and forms
Joining a waitlist costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We use your details only for what the form said we would, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. See our privacy policy.
Your rights under New Zealand law
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where they apply to you as a consumer. If anything we have written appears to conflict with those Acts, those Acts win.
Content and copyright
The words, tables and diagrams on this site are ours. Quote us with a link, by all means. Do not republish pages wholesale. Material quoted from MBIE, legislation or council sources belongs to those bodies and is used with attribution and a link.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page tells you when they last changed. The terms that apply to a purchase are the ones published when you made it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
